Navigating the Skies and Savoring Airline Cuisine on Long Flights
Flying long distances often means spending hours confined to a narrow seat, watching clouds drift by, and waiting for the moment the plane touches down. On a recent journey that started in Evansville, passed through Dallas, and soared over the Atlantic, the experience felt like a scene from a movie. The endless sky outside the window, the hum of the engines, and the mix of anticipation and fatigue all combined into a unique travel story. This post shares insights from that fl

The Final Leg: Delays, Detours, and One Last Adventure
As every traveler eventually learns, not every trip ends exactly as planned. The final leg of my journey started with bad weather throwing a wrench into my travel plans. My original flight home was scheduled to leave around 4:30 PM, but Mother Nature had other ideas. What began as a simple delay turned into multiple schedule changes, pushing my departure much later into the evening. Oddly enough, the delay wasn't all bad. Instead of rushing through my final hours, I was able

The Final Leg: One Last Adventure Before Home
As my Guten Tag aus Berlin adventure came to a close, I thought the hardest part would be leaving Berlin. Turns out, the journey home had one last adventure waiting for me. My trip home included a stop in London, and what should have been a simple layover quickly turned into a lesson in patience after my flight got rebooked... and then rebooked again. At first, I was frustrated. After weeks of exploring Germany, creating content, meeting incredible people, and making memories

Guten Tag Aus Berlin: A Journey of History, Culture, and Discovery
Berlin was more than just a destination—it became an experience that challenged, inspired, and surprised me every step of the way. From the moment I arrived at my apartment near Alexanderplatz, I knew this trip would be different. The city immediately welcomed me with its mix of historic landmarks, modern energy, and vibrant culture. Every day brought a new adventure, whether I was wandering through bustling city squares, riding public transportation like a local, or discover

One More Big Adventure Before I Depart Berlin: Auf Wiedersehen to the King's Legendary Streets
Before I say auf Wiedersehen to Berlin, I wanted to take one last big adventure that connects me to a piece of music history. This isn’t goodbye but a see you later, as I head to a place where the King of Rock and Roll once stood—not Graceland in Memphis, but a close second that holds a special place in Elvis Presley’s story. This is where Elvis was stationed during his military service and where he met the woman who would become his future wife. For any Elvis fan, this journ

Letting Loose in Berlin: A Night of Music, Burlesque, Elvis, and Pure Fun
Sometimes a trip gives you exactly what you need, even when you don't realize it. My second night at Knutschfleck, in Berlin was somehow even more lively than the first. This time I arrived early and got to watch the venue come alive from the very beginning. As the night went on, bridal parties arrived, couples filled the room, and the energy continued to build with every song and every performance. One thing I've learned is that no two nights here are ever the same. The venu

From the Spree to Sachsenhausen: A journey of Contrasts
Travel has a funny way of reminding us that not every plan goes as expected. Over the last few days, I experienced both the beauty and excitement of Berlin as well as the disappointment of a canceled adventure, followed by one of the most sobering and impactful visits of my entire trip. It was a series of experiences that perfectly captured what travel is really about—not just seeing new places, but learning to embrace every twist and turn along the way. Cruising the River Sp

From Bratislava to My Roots: A Journey Toward Myjava
Arriving in Bratislava was more than just another stop on my European adventure—it was the beginning of a personal journey. While the capital city offered beautiful architecture, historic streets, and stunning views along the Danube, my thoughts kept drifting north toward a place that has been part of my family story for generations. One of the biggest reasons for coming to Slovakia was the opportunity to visit the Myjava region and the village of Turá Lúka, where my grandmot

More than a stay — part of the experience.
Since being here in Berlin, I’ve been staying at the apartments on Rochstraße 9 and honestly it has felt like the perfect home base for this entire adventure. The apartments are modern, cozy, and right in the middle of everything. You really get that true Berlin city feeling the second you step outside. One minute you’re walking past quiet little cafés and cobblestone streets, and the next you’re surrounded by the energy of the city, nightlife, history, and people from all ov

Berlin’s Past Hidden in Plain Sight
Some buildings hold more than offices — they hold stories, memories, and reminders of the past that can never fully be erased. Today I found myself standing outside what is now Berlin’s Federal Ministry of Finance building. At first glance, it almost looks plain in a way — large stone walls, rows of windows, clean lines, and the kind of architecture that feels cold and serious. If you didn’t know what happened here decades ago, you could probably walk right by it without thin

The Night life
After the excitement of landing in Europe and making my way through Madrid, my first night in Berlin absolutely did not disappoint. The city instantly welcomed me with its electric nightlife, incredible energy, and unforgettable atmosphere. From the moment I stepped out into the streets, Berlin felt alive — music pouring from every corner, people laughing and celebrating, and that perfect mix of history and modern culture blending together everywhere you looked. Saturday in Madrid
Saturday 23, May 2026 Today we landed in Madrid, though we didn’t go really anywhere because I was afraid of getting lost in Spain (not that that isn’t a great idea ) I stayed around and viewed the massive airport with its architectural style that would compare to almost a mid-century look kind of that Frank Loyd wright did in some of his work. The pathway that I was at was Labeled HJK and I swear to you it can take about ten minutes to walk from one side to the other. Fro
